My wife Melissa and I raise Golden Retrievers. We do this simply because we think that Goldens are the most loveable dogs of all breeds. They simply want to please their master. We started developing our bloodline about 8 years ago. We now have two of the most wonderful goldens in the world Briscoe and Marley. Briscoe is an Irish Creme with champion bloodline, and Marley is from the the same bloodline as my first Golden Retriever (Baxter), she is a light golden. We have only had 3 liters of pups in the 8 years since we brought our first Golden (Baxter) home. We lost Baxter in 2005 because someone decided they wanted him more than we did so they took him while we were away from home. We do not want to over breed our female and that is simply the reason for not having too many liters. Maggie was our first female. She is the mother to Marley. We have pups because we enjoy being mom and dad to these little guys. My wife is a nurse so I leave all of the health related matters to her. Sometimes I think she treats the dogs better that me. We do not show our dogs we just want them to play and have fun on our property and take an occasional swim in Lake Cumberland. They truly live a dogs live. We like to place our dogs with loving families especially if they have children. I was all boy as a child and I think every boy should have a dog. If it is a golden then they will have a true companion.
