At DarnFar Ranch we specialize in breeding, training and trialing very high quality, working Border Collies. Located on a quaint working sheep ranch in central Illinois, we strive to produce exceptional puppies from very well-bred, herding parents. All of our breeding stock is cleared through OFA for sound hips and is Optigen DNA screened for CEA (eyes). We understand the breed because we use our dogs to do the work for which they were originally designed. This means that our puppies will excel at any performance event from Agility, Obedience to Search & Rescue and make superb companions. A sound herding dog cannot be crazy or frantic. It should have calm confidence. We don't breed over-the-top, "fluffy" show dogs. If you want a true Border Collie, we have what you are seeking. Breeding to the working standard means you get the best quality puppy that is true to type. We breed REAL Border Collies.
