We utilized a contract to provide evidence of the method in which we raised the puppies and the health / veterinary care they received. Puppies are wormed regularly and vaccinated prior to going to their new homes. Our contract also defines the methods in which we expect the puppy to be managed for its life to ensure a healthy, happy existence.
Our contract stipulate the requirements of any puppy that is ultimately used as a breeding animal, which includes confirming that the dog and the dog to which it is bred clears an evaluation for hip health (OFA) and that the mating cannot produce a puppy affected with CEA (Optigen DNA testing required). Additionally, our contract stipulates that any DarnFar puppy that is used as a breeding animal must pass an evaluation for herding ability. These are the criteria we place on ourselves, and therefore, we ask that our puppy buyers maintain those same standards.
Finally, we require that any puppy buyer that is no longer able to care for their DarnFar Border Collie, regardless of reason or the dog's age, must contact us and we agree to assume the responsibility of re-homing the dog.
