Canfield Farm is located in Northern California. We have raised purebred Katahdin Hair Sheep and stockdogs since the early 1990s. Border Collies are our passion! I've made two trips to the UK just for the dogs! Last May in England I saw two full sisters to my Border Collie Gayle. I believe the only true border collie is a purebred working dog. A quality pedigree is of the utmost importance. I currently have a litter (the first in four years) of my Gayle bred to an imported Welsh dog. These lines are from some of the top trialing dogs in the UK. I have five trialing dogs(who regularly do farm work), and two retired 12 year olds. I believe dogs need talent, a good temperament and physical soundness. Placing Border Collies is very difficult, and I am VERY careful to make sure my dogs go to long lasting homes with people who understand the needs of this type of dog.
