Blossom Valley Parson Russell Terriers
Registration:
AKC UKC
I am located in unincorporated East San Diego County California. I am a member in good standing of the Orange Empire Dog Club and Temecula Kennel Club.
I have been breeding since July 2000 and believe in doing appropriate health testing of the dogs I breed and their puppies. I recommend the following tests, the first three of which are required for a PRT to be certified with the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC):
1. BAER testing for deafness (I test all my puppies between 6-8 weeks of age, since ~26% are deaf in one or both ears),
2. CERF testing for eye problems in parents, 3. Patellar Luxation testing of puppies at 12 months old,
4. Hip x-rays to check for hip dysplasia and Legg-Calve-Perthes disease at 12 months old.
I microchip each puppy and list myself on the AKC CAR registration form as an alternative contact so that, if the AKC cannot locate the new owner, I will be available to save the dog. I believe that all breeders should remain responsible for the puppies and dogs they place for life. I will take back any dog that I place at any time and will either find it a new home or keep it. I do not believe that our society should euthanize the animals that bad or lazy owners relinquish to the pounds and shelters. We should be better than that in the 21st century.
I guarantee my puppies for a period of three years against the genetic problems, if the buyer fulfills the conditions of the contract to take proper care of the puppy (specified in a written contract that the buyer signs). I am very fussy about where my puppies and dogs go to live. You must prove to me that you will provide a “forever” home and will treat the dog with respect and love for its entire life. I require castration at an appropriate age, unless I approve the new owner as being a breeding home (with appropriate testing done before breeding). If you are interested in one of my puppies or adult dogs, you must complete an application for approval.
