Bankhead Kennels prides itself on producing top-quality, Champion bloodline Basset Hounds and Labrador Retrievers. It is our goal and accomplishment to stay true to AKC standards, and to place our puppies in loving, pet homes where they provide their owners life-long companionship. Our relationship with our customers goes way beyond the day the adoptee takes ownership of his/her puppy. We are there for our adoptees to answer questions and give assistance for the long haul. All our adults are AKC Registered - the most respected and reputable kennel club in the United States. The majority of our adults are backed by a long line of Champions which shows in our adults conformation, personality, and beauty. Our adult sires have twenty to fifty Champions in their five generation pedigrees and long histories of health clearances. We only breed our females once a year, and we only allow our puppies to be adopted by families and individuals that feel the way we do about dogs - that they are part of the family and yes, "man's best friend!" Our puppies are raised inside our home where they get constant attention - we ensure that they are completely socialized before going to their new homes. The health of our Bassets, Labradors, and their offspring is of top priority. We keep them on a strict immunization schedule, deworm our puppies weekly beginning at the age of 2 weeks, and take them for a thorough vet exam before allowing them to go their new homes. This is not only a business, but a life-long dream come true - the passion we have for the Basset Hound and Labrador Retriever shows in our adults and their offspring.
