Following are health screenings often performed on breeding Mastiff adults; choosing a puppy from a breeder who tests parents for health can help avoid future health problems in your puppy:
Cardiac Evaluation - OFA
CERF Screening (Canine Eye Research Foundation)
Elbow Displasia (OFA, by X-Ray)
Hip Dysplasia (OFA or PennHIP)
Progressing Retinal Atrophy (genetic test)
Thyroid Function Test (blood test)

**Mastiff Pups Expected in June, 2008*** We are lovers of the English Mastiff breed and have four of our own AKC registered mastiffs (and a few other pets!)in Bellevue, Michigan. They come from wonderful lines (please see the visual pedigrees on the website slideshows) and all have received formal training. At least one will be shown this year after additional training in show performance.
Some might think we're crazy, but our animals are ALL inside-although they regularly romp their 5 acre plot with its underground fence. They get regular exercise at their own pace-chasing frogs in the stream, running after geese and cranes as they fly by (as if they'll ever catch them up there!) and occasionally taking a swim in the pool when the stream is low. They are extremely toned and very well socialized!
English Mastiffs-like any pet- rely completely on their owners for their physical and emotional care. Unlike some pets, however, English Mastiffs want nothing more than to spend as much time as possible with you. Whether it’s following you room to room - or around the yard -to help you with your daily chores, wrapping themselves around your feet as you’re watching T.V., or the ridiculous belief (given their enormous size) that they were bred to be lap dogs, they CRAVE your attention and love. We treat our dogs as our babies and will only place pups with people that feel the same way.
Our litters are limited. Please check our site for planned litters. Puppy choice is in order of deposit from approved homes. All of our pups are vet checked, have their 8 week puppy shots, and are microchipped. Spay or neuter discounts are availabe, if desired. If you feel you would be able to provide the physical and emotional care this particular breed requires, we would love to hear from you!
